Tottenham Secure Hot New Deal
Tottenham Hotspur seem to have decided that winger Dejan Kulusevski is simply too good to pass on.
“We are delighted to announce the permanent signing of Dejan Kulusevski from Juventus,” the club said in a statement via their official website on Saturday, 17 June.
The 23-year-old Swedish winger initially joined the Spurs on an 18-month loan from Juve in January 2022, during which he scored seven goals in 57 appearances.
While Tottenham reportedly originally agreed to a £29.2-million option to purchase when they first borrowed the star from his Italian club, the two teams are believed to have reached an agreement on a reduced fee of £25 million for the five-year deal.
Manager Ange Postecoglou will undoubtedly have high expectations for the new signee, who was awarded the 2022 Guldbollen – the prize for Sweden’s best male player – for a stand-out first year in the English Premier League (EPL) last year.
The signing is the first step for the British club, who will need to take a serious look at revamping their team if they’d like to rise up the EPL table from 18th place to somewhere more permanent in the rankings for the 2023/24 season.
